Fall Into Prayer
Don't you love getting a text from a friend saying they're praying for you? What a delight to receive that message, and what a true privilege it is to pray for one another. Tomorrow, September 28, is See You At The Pole, a time when students gather around their flag pole to pray for their school; such a great reminder for all of us to pray for one another.
Truth is, the Lord is so sweet to remind me of people to pray for, but I don't always know how to pray specifically for them. Often I'll just ask, but other times I need a little help. We've got some great books at the store that encourage me in my prayer life.
I love the book we carry, When You Don't Know What To Pray, by Charles F. Stanley. (You probably think I only like it because the cover is purple with mountains!) If it's true that you can judge a book by it's cover, I would definitely buy this one!! What I enjoy about it is that the author covers 100 different struggles we all go through, gives verses to reference, and helps you better pray through each situation. I can't recommend it enough.
With many to choose from, our prayer journals are great choice for many customers. My favorite is the one below: "I Still Remember the Days I Prayed for What I Have Now"--the title alone really speaks to me. Inside each page is space to write my worries, my praises, my prayers, and God's promises. These journals make sweet gifts for yourself or for a loved one.
Something special we do here at The Wreath Stand is write out prayer requests from you, our beloved customers. We love how so many of you share your lives with us; of course, that comes with the good times and the bad times. Many post-it notes are stuck to our counter with your prayer requests. I look at them daily while I'm at the register or working on a blog and pray for you.
We count it a privilege to do life together with you. Please stop in any time, grab a post-it note, and write down your prayer request!
Until next time, how can we pray for you?
Joy
